New Summer Club Kicks Off at Charter Oak Communities
Family Centers recently expanded its long-time partnership with Charter Oak Communities to offer youth living in communities on Stamford's East and West sides an enriched summer program. Called The Summer Club, this new initiative serves 30 children between the ages of five and 12 living in Charter Oak’s Fairgate and Lawnhill Terrace communities.
Led by Family Centers’ Resident Services Coordinators, who provide onsite support services for residents at many Charter Oak properties, The Summer Club features a curriculum that incorporates math, reading, physical activity and technology. Professionals with experience in elementary education were hired to help facilitate the program.
Thanks to funding from the Goodnow Foundation, Leigh & Ben Carpenter and Laurie & George Host, there is no charge for families to participate in the Summer Club. By holding this program onsite at Charter Oak's communities, parents can continue to work over the summer knowing their children are in a safe, nurturing environment.
The Summer Club runs Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. until mid-August. For more information on our partnership with Charter Oak Communities, click here.
