Drawing on themes their New York Times bestselling book, Tightrope: Americans Reaching for Hope, Kristof and WuDunn outlined the ways economic disparity, addiction, equity and other societal issues have contributed to the struggles of America’s working class. Citing stories from Kristof’s childhood in rural Oregon and statistical evidence, they challenged attendees to “strengthen America by strengthening each American.”
